Supports your POPIA-conscious processes.
EDUCERT supports compliance record management. It does not replace legal advice, policy design, internal controls, or statutory obligations under POPIA.
- Verification pages can be designed to limit unnecessary personal data exposure.
- Certificate records can support controlled access and audit-ready workflows.
- Organizations remain responsible for lawful processing, training, policies, and retention decisions.
EDUCERT website and platform roles
POPIA obligations may arise in different ways depending on whether you are visiting the EDUCERT marketing Website, using the Platform as a customer, or appearing in certificate records controlled by a customer organisation.
- Marketing Website. When you browse educert.co.za, EDUCERT may process limited technical and usage information, including through Meta Pixel, to measure visits and marketing performance. This is separate from Platform certificate record processing and is described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
- Platform customers. Customers that upload learner, employee, or certificate holder information generally remain responsible for determining the lawful basis, notices, and retention decisions for that information.
- Verifiers and public lookups. Verification and public register features are designed to support controlled disclosure, but the issuing organisation's configuration and business decisions remain important.
